SCANR Version 1.0 - John P. Corea 1994
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The purpose of SCANR is to keep track of what's in all those channels in your
scanner. It is primarily intended for scanner enthusiasts with 100-400 channel
scanners. If you have less than 100 channels you probably don't want or need
to use this program.
Why should you use this program ?
One of the biggest problems with a scanner with so many channels is
avoiding duplication of entry. That is, having the same frequency
entered in more than one channel. SCANR will prevent that because
it automatically searches for duplication whenever you enter a frequency.
It won't allow you to enter the same frequency twice. Instead, it will
show you where you already have that frequency entered !
Other features are :
Automatic Channel and Bank numbering (makes entry quicker & easier)
User editable pulldown menu for selecting type of service (police,fire,etc)
Sort by Station, Service, Frequency or Channel (nice).
Search by Frequency (because you want to know who you're hearing).
Write entire log to an ASCII file (for printing or whatever).
Write tagged items to an ASCII file (to TAG an item press SPACEBAR).
All Menu functions appear at bottom of screen (no memorizing).
You may add items to the file named "SERVICE.DAT". This is a plain
ASCII file and contains a list of service types (police,fire,etc).
Do not, however, attempt to edit the file "SCANNER.DAT". This file
is a random access file , not an ASCII file !!
To register your copy fill out the file REG.FRM and include it with
your check for $10.00 and mail it to :
